Program Description

Event Details

NOTE: FDL is out of eclipse glasses and viewers to hand out before the event. FDL will provide protective eyewear for all participants at the event.

On April 8, 2024, there will be a total solar eclipse visible in a path across the United States! Here in Peoria, the moon will block 94% of the sun! Eye protection is needed to view any portion of a partial eclipse. Patrons will be able to view the partial eclipse from the Reading Garden using provided eye protection (while supplies last). We will also stream viewing from locations that will experience totality. So even in the event of cloudy weather here, viewing will be possible.

 Event Location: Reading Garden

Viewing Time: 1:30pm-2:30PM

Maximum Eclipse: 2:03PM (Partial Eclipse – 94.4%)
