Event Details

Learn about Chinese culture and language with Mengmeng, teacher and principal of the Peoria Chinese Language School. She will start by reading popular Chinese storybooks, then students will learn Chinese games and crafts and try authentic Chinese food.

 

Class one: the Chinese Spring Festival

We will read a Chinese storybook about the Chinese Spring Festival. We will learn about lucky and unlucky numbers and colors. Mengmeng will introduce tones in the Chinese speaking system. We will make Chinese lanterns and guess lantern riddles. We'll also enjoy sticky dumplings stuffed with black sesame paste!

 

Class two: Basic Chinese Characters on April 6th

Class three: Conversational Chinese Dialogue on May 4th

Participants do not need to attend all classes.
